Our product is patent pending.
We've officially filed a patent application with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) to protect our innovative design.
This means the product is currently under review and not yet issued a full patent, but the intellectual property is actively protected.
The MagnaDent Large Suction Housing is designed to work seamlessly with your existing equipment. If you’re concerned about large debris passing through, you can transfer the Screen Spring Clip from your current large suction (such as the Screen Spring Clip QD HVE) to the MagnaDent housing. This helps maintain the same debris-filtering functionality you’re already familiar with, ensuring optimal performance and protection.

Sometimes with the hanger is too slick or has oil on it, the adapter may try to slip out. We’ve solved this issue by issues a very light grit sand paper and running it along the inside of the hanger to create a grippier surface. If you’re trying to use a non adec hanger that may be a little larger, we’ve had luck shimming the hanger adapter by using teflon or even electrical tape.
Our product uses a neodymium rare earth magnet, which is strong but compact. While magnets like this can pose a theoretical risk of interference with pacemakers and implantable cardioverter-defibrillators (ICDs), the likelihood of interference during routine dental procedures is considered very low, especially with modern shielding in today’s devices.
That said, magnets can temporarily alter device behavior:
A magnet placed over a pacemaker can force it into a fixed pacing mode, overriding the patient’s programmed settings.
A magnet placed over an ICD can suspend its shock therapy function, though it does not affect pacing.
As a safety protocol, we recommend dental providers ask patients whether they have a pacemaker or ICD and keep the suction and magnetized components at least 6 inches away from such devices at all times.
This guidance is based on standard medical device recommendations and reviewed by a board-certified cardiologist.
Sometimes the plastic tailpieces can be stuck on there pretty good. Using a pair of pliers and gently removing without cracking or breaking the tailpiece works well. If all else fails, you can cut the hose just below the tailpiece and then insert the Magnadent Wand Ring into the hose at that point.
Running a plastic barrier over the suction valve and Magnadent Adapter is the gold standard. Use an EPA registered intermediate level disinfectant like Cavi-Wipe and wipe down product after use. Once dried you can apply a new barrier. We’ve been testing Magnadent Adapters for over a year now in a general dentistry practice and have seen no degradation of the product with regular disinfection.
It is pretty helpful to use a water based lubricant around the Magnadent Wand Ring to assist in the insertion into the hose.
Installation is an easy process, the Suction valves simply pull off of the tail piece and the tailpiece pulls out of the hose. (Sometimes you might need some pliers). Then simply install the wand ring into the hose (use a water based lubricant to help).
Next place the Tray Mount into the hanger holder and tighten the bottom screw while holding the Tray Mount Steady until tight. The Tray mount is textured to give a little hold but if you find the Tray Mount still slips try a light sanding with 100 grit sandpaper on the intaglio surface of the hanger holder.
